After checking out THE ANDY WARHOL MEMORIAL my girlfriend Molly and I walked up to 34th Street to take a walk through the Affordable Art Fair in search of the latest in fine art line art.
The line was down the hall and out the door, as on Thursday from 6 - 8PM admission was free. This photo was taken at 6:05PM. We got through the line and up to the exhibition in less than five minutes.
UK's own Barry Reigate's Silkscreen print In for the Money at TAG Fine Arts.
Also at TAG was Dan Baldwin's mixed media on canvas Villainy.
Archer Dougherty at New Grounds Gallery, out of Alburquerque, NM.
Ray Maserman signed and numbered etchings.
We started to notice a trend, most of these shows were affordable because they were comprised mainly of etchings, numbered c-prints, and screen prints.
Angela Branco acrylic and colored pencil works on wood at SVA's Visual Arts Gallery.
Deborah Azzopardi's silkscreens from Cynthia Corbett Gallery out of London. "You like my legs?" came a voice behind me while I was taking a picture. "Those are your legs? Nice!" I responded. "Well I painted them, I'm the artist" said Deborah.
Etchings on paper by Japanese artist Atsuko Ishii at Envie D'Art from Paris / London.
Tom Lewis' acrylic / aerosol / and pen pieces at Interior Angle, Essex, UK.
Digital print by Swiss painter Marc Monteleone at Consorcico de Arte from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Mixed media-collage by John K. Lawson titled The Magician from Honfleur Gallery in Washington, DC.
Francie Shaw's Dinosaur series #18, 18" x 18" latex paint on canvas at artxwomen A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn, NY.
Chitra Ganesh silkscreens with lithography from artxwomen Institute for Women and Art and The Feminist Art Project, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ.
Molly and I left and headed down to Soho for Gina LeVay's Bull Fight Opening when we happened upon something I had read about somewhere.
Lady Gaga's EGOgallery, DRAWN THIS WAY, a collection of portraits of her, as drawn by her fans aka, her "Little Monsters." Yeah. . .I'll pass on that one.
