My longtime buddy, poet Chris Caruso was in town visiting, so I decided to drag him along with me to see some art. The big opening of the night was at Phantom Audio, featuring the work of two talented female artists, Raquel Echanique, and Teddi Rogers.
Art shows here are always interesting because of the long hallway of art.
Both sides of the hallway are lined with artwork, but it isn't wide enough. . .
. . . to have two people standing back to back looking at opposite walls. The entire hallway is the work of Raquel Echanique.
Here's a view from the end of the hallway looking out.
I love Raquel's colors.

The party started to wind down. Artist Joseph Meloy suggested we have a little impromptu afterparty at his studio which was only a few blocks away.
We walked over to his new place stopping to pick up some beer on the way. His new studio is right in Chelsea on the West side.
Joseph Meloy had told me before that he actually owned one of the Loop / Parcel bags I had designed. So he went and got it out of the closet. So random!
Still in almost perfect condition in fact.
I designed that bag back in 2001, it was sold in Urban Outfitters, Hot Topic, and other trendy stores around the country.
Now cats chill in it. To view more random parcel sightings, visit the tumblr I made just because I still see bags I designed from this line in weird places and needed a site to document the weirdness. randomparcelsightings.tumblr.com/
