It is no secret that I love going to artist open studios. It is one of the few times you get a glimpse of an artist in their natural work environment, what inspires them, and how they function. As they would say on Mtv'sCribs, it's "where the magic happens."
I've participated in the Bushwick Open Studios before, but being that my studio is in Ridgewood, not Bushwick, it's on the far far far North Eastern corner of the BOS MAP, and gets very little foot traffic in this townwide event. So instead I opt for closing down my studio for a few days, and taking it to the streets. Besides, why not meet the neighbors?

This piece is really cool, artist Daniel Bejar had a key duplicated, and then a duplicate made of the duplicate, and a duplicate made of that duplicate, and so on, and so on. Each generation of key lost a little bit of its identity until the final key was just a blank. danielbejar.com
