DRAWS LIVING MACHINES
FRI. 11-16-12 WILLIAMSBURG, BKLYN, NY
I was supposed to meet up with artist Gigi Chen at this weird little store front gallery in Williamsburg for the private opening of a show by artist Katie Shima.
Gigi was running late so I awkwardly entered the show, took a bunch of pictures, and introduced myself around.
Katie in the middle.
Her work is extremly detailed and fine.
The closer you get into it, the more complex it becomes.
This one reminded me of a Da Vinci invention.
Fine line drafting, the kind of hand done skill that they don't really use anymore in architecture, yet is really technical and impressive to see in real life.
Line artist Katie Shima.
Gigi never did make it on time. I was late in getting over to the show at Phantom Audio, titled NOT YOUR MOTHER'S PHOTO ALBUM so I texted here I was leaving and to meet me over there. She replied that she would. I hopped on the L train and headed to stop number two.
