THE OPENING OF DECODED
PHOTO AND ICONOGRAPHY
THU. 1-17-13 57 Stanton St., NYC, NY
After checking out the Bob Gruen Rolling Stones I made my way to another interesting opening at Lambert Fine Arts, this time a show of photos mixed with stylized graphic elements. Sorin Abraham and Michael Ricardo Andreev created a literal codebook of symbols and imagery to try to bring people into understanding art easier. A symbolic breakdown for the novice art viewer.
New York Natives video of them explaining the show.
Good crowd, not as crazy as the turnout for SURVIVAL. You will also notice that the middle wall has been removed so it's one big open room.
Photographer Sorin Abraham stands in front of one of his pieces.
I ran into artist Michael Anthony Pegues whom I met at the ArtSucks 10th Anniversary Party. I was glad to see him again so I could get a solo shot of him for ArtistInRepose.com as I didn't have my camera on hand at the party.
Jessica Kahn from Sundays Auction House & Stefanie Breslin from The Licensing Project.
Two artists whom I met at SURVIVAL Joseph Grazi and Mia Tyler say hi to Lambert Fine Arts own Marc Lambert.

The show also featured an interesting selection of sculptures by Bob Clyatt.
Bob Clyatt busts, in the far background is a sculpture by Harris Diamant.
The artwork on the front door is by Brandon Friend from his two man show here, identity CRISIS.
I posed with am with Michael Anthony Pegues before stepping out the door.

Just another day in the life of an art juggernaut.
