MY RELATION TO: TO COJO
"I met Cojo about four ears ago, when I was working at THE SOURCE MAGAZINE. We used to do this health column and he would do the illustration for it every month.
Cojo would always be able to find the one key visual in the text and translate it into an insanely funny ill. Always full of humor, unexpected, and to the point - that's what Cojo delivered, and of course it was refreshing to be working with someone so patient with our editor's changes, and so laid back. Cojo's personality allowed me to feel quite comfortable discussing assignments and he was always very professional about deadlines."
MORE ABOUT ME:
I'm currently VIBE MAGAZINE's associate art director. i've been at VIBE for 4 years now, which is a long time for magazines. before VIBE I worked for a year at THE SOURCE as a designer. My first job in the industry was at a now defunct magazine called NEW WOMAN. I did mostly scanning then but was still very grateful for my 'big break'. Having lived in NYC for 6 years and worked in magazines for 5 has made me a little jaded, but it's still a far way from my parent's farm in Brasilia, Brazil.
