This is the second part of the SKETCH365.COM experiment. The first part has been completed (in real time) and compiled chronologically in the Calendar Gallery to the left.
SKETCH365 was conceived by internationally renowned COJO, Art Juggernaut (ARTSUCKS.COM) as a yearlong contemporary / pop art experiment chronicling his 28th year of life as a drawing-a-day exercise in "Rendered Quick Thought" visualizing from mind to paper by the artist's hand in 365-fully-rendered-daily-pencil-details.
The year of deadline sketching, albeit grueling, was a success. The second part of the plan was to then spend the next 6 months or so compiling the sketches into the TEN SUBJECTS they all were centered within, and collaging them into 10 paintings. The project was put on hold at the conclusion of the sketch stage.
After a sabbatical year, COJO, now 30, has regrouped and has begun rendering scans of the pencil sketches into finished pieces (the original pencils remain intact and are available to purchase on this site). These finished pieces will be compiled into the ten paintings as described in the initialArtist Statement . Each week more and more of the pencil drawings will take shape with color and line. Each week the paintings will be one step closer to being completed.
The finished paintings will be unveiled at an exclusive opening for Press, Art Dealers, and Sketch365 patrons.
