THREE BLIND MICE
015 OF 365 •
DRAWN ON: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2005

Three blind mice is a detail of painting (S)torytime. When I started work on the (S)torytime sketches I was thinking back to all the childhood nursery rhymes and fairy tails I had been read in bed, or sang as a child. The image of the three blind mice with their eyes gored out and tails lopped off always was an image that haunted me.

CLOWN
016 OF 365
DRAWN ON: MONDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2005

Clown is a detail of painting (S)lumberland. The concept of the sketches for this painting were to pull back the curtain on some of my childhood nighmares and encapsulate them all into one painting. Long before I had seen Pennywise The Dancing Clown in Stephen King's It or Killer Klowns from Outer Space my parents had taken me to the circus. A perfectly normal childhood experience, until I was walking down a gangplank in between two sets of risers and from out of nowhere stepped a clown. I ended up being petrified of clowns for years.

MACABRE
017 OF 365 •
DRAWN ON: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2005

Macabre is a detail of painting (S)lumberland. To complement the fear of the clowns piece I started this with the left side being sort of the negative space of the right side of clowns so they could possibly fit together like a puzzle piece. I wanted to create an abstract creature with various elements of darkness and the macabre. A raven, skulls, spiderwebs, scary eyes and teeth as well as a little puppet Grim Reaper.

CHESHIRE CAT
018 OF 365 •
DRAWN ON: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2005

Cheshire Cat is a detail of painting (S)tory Time. One of my favorite characters in any of the Disney films was the cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland. I wanted to draw him as a more evil and malicious.

After this piece sold a fan of the piece printed out the sketch and brought it to a tattoo shop in Pennsylvania and had the sketch tattooed on his shin - (Cat In The Tat- ArtSucks.com)

TOOTS
019 OF 365 •
DRAWN ON: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2005

Toots is a detail of painting (S)ocialite. I wanted to incorporate a young over-made-up celebrity socialite doing rails while nip-slipping who is caught off guard by the viewer's presence.

FUCK MACHINE
019 OF 365 •
DRAWN ON: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2005

Fuck Machine is a detail of painting (S)ex. The idea was to show a spread eagle woman in an elaborate mechanical chair interacting with a metal dildo reminicent of Steely Dan from The Naked Lunch. The problem was to depict this without being too graphic and gratuitous.

INCREDIBLE-ABSTRACT
021 OF 365
DRAWN ON: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2005

Incredible-Abstract is a detail of painting (S)uperhero. Hulk was never my favorite character in the Marvel universe, but I always liked the idea of him looking like just an angry pile of green muscles. His skin is so dense with muscle that Wolverine's claws can't penetrate it.

Cojo has now compiled and collaged the 365 sketches, which were drawn with the only limitation of having to loosely fit into into one of 10 SUBJECTS. These subjects are the titles & themes of a ten painting series based on the sketches to be completed by September 25, 2012.

Ten 8' x 3' finished paint on canvas masterworks are slowly being completed, while the original pencils remain intact and are available to purchase on this site. Each week more sketches will become available to purchase, as the 10 SUBJECTS step by step become closer to being a finished solid show.

The sketches from this experiment are available for purchase through the site on a first come first serve basis as they are made available each week. Each sketch is priced at $365.00 $100 USD (from now till October 2012. All unsold sketches will revert back to $365 after that date). It's through the sale of these sketches that the artist is able to paint and pursue his various artistic experiments.
